Modeling in an African home
Today I calculated the journey of modeling and how it has affected relationships in our homes, let me ask have you ever sat down with your parents to discuss the fact that you want to go into full time modeling? Whereas they have already seen you as their lawyer, doctor, engineer,or journalist and then you decide to model, that is the biggest blow you could give opposition will come from up and down most will tell you to quit, that career will probably wreck your relationship with your family but there are also families that are supportive,if you are lucky to have that then you should be grateful but majority will put you down.
Modeling is a sweet career to those who understands it,it helps you build confidence and it also helps you express yourself at least that is what it helps me do but do our parents understand that? Do they understand the fact that been a model doesn't mean you are a prostitute? they have so much induced themselves in the fact that the industry is only meant for those who don't know what to do with their lives or the stray children which is not true.
Most of them have misunderstood the term act of seduction in the modeling world, they believe is a world that allows girls to go naked but the act of seduction in modeling simply describes been attractive and catchy but not in the way they think.
My mum once said to me why do you waste your time snapping, learning expression,and doing all those things when you know is just a waste of time,I laughed and told her this things I do help me be myself, sometimes is not the money you get from it no,is the joy you get that makes you smile.
As for we models, upcoming models,I won't say the older models has done bad for us,no they have created a part for us, they have given us a thing to live for but it is up to us to make the African home appreciate you as a model,make more impacts positively and help them understand we are worth more than they think
